We seem to have a thing for plants that are soft. When you see the Adenanthos sericeus “Coastal Woolybush”, you expect to feel needles, but the velvet texture takes you by surprise. Adenanthos is a finely textured upright shrub with blue grey foliage that flushes pink with new growth, and sports tiny red blooms for the entire growing season. A great textural plant that can be a thiller OR a filler (when used small) in a mixed container planting.

The Adenanthos in this planting works as a successful filler and lets the other plants shine (back right). Left clockwise: Jasminum -star jasmine, Adenanthos sericeus, Heuchera ‘Gotham’,Calibrachoa ‘Aloha Kona Mango’, Aloe ‘Goliath’, Carex ‘Banana Boat’, Clematis ascotensis
