We started out today like true Angelinos, crawling down Los Feliz Blvd. at a snail’s pace in traffic. But what a treat it was to bask in the beautiful sunshine!
Our first stop was Potted, an urban gem in L.A. The owners of Potted, Mary and Annette, were kind enough to open early for us and give us the grand tour.
Potted maximizes its tight square footage, offering unique plants and home & garden decor, punctuating displays with bold color. Mary and Annette work hard to source locally-crafted goods, and many of their offerings are items that they’ve had manufactured specifically for Potted.
Potted is home to a vast array of, surprisingly, pots! What an amazingly simple solution to the challenge of displaying large pots in a small space.
One of Potted’s many unexpected and irreverent treasures.
And then it was on to Rolling Greens Nursery in Hollywood.
Real or faux? Can you tell the difference? An elegant way to display these orchid stems and to explain pricing.
Rolling Greens is located in a beautifully preserved brick tire warehouse. Each room has its own style and hidden discoveries to draw you in.
Our group was enamored with the stunning, yet simple curtain of stained tea bags. An ordinary object elevated into art.
Our last retail stop was Roger’s Gardens in Newport Beach. We couldn’t wait to see what this industry icon had in store.
The retail theater begins from the moment you enter the nursery. Merchandising here at Roger’s is an art that crafts plants and vessels into beautiful color schemes.
Easy paths guide you through the nursery.
How great to see color and hanging baskets in January!
The day’s end, also in traffic, but with a spectacular sunset view along the coast.
