If you’re going tropical on the patio, or simply want some “Wow” to your garden, variegated Canna Pretoria is your plant.
Canna Pretoria was an easy choice for the “Wow” list. A fast grower with dramatic green and creamy yellow striped leaves that are up to 24” long. (a.k.a Bengal Tiger Canna) Vibrant orange-mango colored blooms project from the base of the stems, giving extra impact. It’s a plant that is constantly evolving throughout the season, but with or without the blooms, the striking foliage is reason enough to plant it. In our own plantings, we were surprised to see how those leaves held up in our September rains. The blooms got soggy, but the leaves were troopers, even into October (see below).
